Welcome to Hard Water Problems Directory
descaler The Descaler There are a massive number of different methods of water treatment that are available on the market and one of the most popular of these is a form of descaler – a descaling agent. This is a solution which is designed to remove things such as limescale and other minerals from things such as pipes and kettles. An acid is often the active ingredient in these agents which helps to dissolve away the mineral. It may not be immediately clear what purpose this agent will serve but there are massive problems that may be encountered by those that are living in hard water areas. Minerals can gather in a number of different places and this may especially be a problem with boilers. If there are large deposits of minerals gathered in pipe work then there is less room for water to pass through. Initially, this can cause problems with inefficiency and it has been reported that bills can be increased by up to twenty-five percent thanks to this loss of efficiency. However, the minerals that remain after water has passed through can also cause significant levels of damage which means that things such as pipes have to be replaced more often. This again adds to the cost of upkeep. This is a problem that can also be found with kettles as large deposits can damage things such as the element. So, it can be seen that there can be significant costs to those that live in areas of hard water and therefore, it is extremely important that something such as a descaler is available.
